The NT Emergency Response Review Board's report on the overall progress of the NTER has been delayed until mid-October and may not be made public by the Government. In August GetUp made a submission to the review board following our Roll Back, Not Roll Out campaign and we will be urging the Government to make the findings of the report available to the public.
The Productivity Commission have recommended that the Government should pay for 18 weeks of parental leave for new mothers and two weeks for fathers at the minimum wage rate. Sign GetUp's Paid Parental Leave campaign now.

Despite lack of support from the Opposition the Senate has passed the Federal Government's proposal to tax the crude oil by-product condensate, a measure that will add $2.5 billion to the Budget.
The Rudd Governnment has stuck to their promise to remove the tax-free status of the condensate, which was also one of the recommendations of GetUp's Budget submission.

The Govenor-General has outlined that the Murray-Darling region will be one of the first places she visits in her new role due to its national and environmental importance.
